I am a southern woman who loves southern fiction.  I felt, when I read Divine Secrets of the YaYa Sisterhood,that it was written about me and my friends.  My daughter felt that it was about her and her friends.

My favorite book is Confederacy of Dunces, sadly only one of two that Toole wrote.  I finally found a copy of the other one.  My favorite authors are Rita Mae Brown (I was lucky enough to meet her), Barbara Kingsolver, Billie Letts, Rosamunde Pilcher, Maeve Benchy, James Michener, Tom Robbins and Carl Hiaasen.  I loved Marley and Me, which I would give 5+ stars to!  I belong to a book club that meets once a month....co-ed, which is an interesting twist!  Because we can't read strictly chick books, I am forced to stretch my comfort zone .

Besides reading, I work, garden, sew, quilt, crochet and care for the 3 animals (2 cats and an elderly dog) who have chosen me to be their person.  I am trying, with not much success, to knit.
